Southwind Adventures specializes in nature, cultural and adventure tours throughout Latin America. We are a well-known custom travel designer promoting first-class and luxury trips with expansion plans for Antarctica. Southwind is a recognized operator in the Ecotourism/adventure travel field with 33 years of quality service. We are looking for a person who knows and loves Latin America and is interested in a permanent position with a desire to grow with our organization.

Job Description: We are seeking a personable, organized, and experienced marketing & sales professional currently residing in Latin America or in USA (Colorado or Florida is preferred), to join our team of travel specialists who enjoy sharing the wonders of Central & South America with our discerning and adventurous clientele. The goal is to support Southwind’s sales efforts through upscale market presence and industry-wide recognition with outreach and online marketing, media relations and alumni referrals. The virtual position entails development, coordination, and successful execution of marketing strategies besides building long-term media and client relationships. Responsibilities also include tour consulting, sales and customer service, answering trip requests, coordinating private itineraries, follow-up with prospects, personal presentations and trade shows, sales literature updates, blog and newsletters writing, managing guest files, professional and timely client correspondence, troubleshooting unexpected issues and trip evaluation.

Requirements:

  • College degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Hospitality, Public Relations, or related field.
  • Must have a minimum of 4-5 years of recent and successful marketing & sales experience in similar positions preferable with US & Canada clientele in the adventure, ecotourism or luxury field.
  • Advanced computer skills with a proficiency in Windows-based applications (Word, Outlook, etc.).
  • Experience with database management, cloud-based content management & collaboration such as Box & inventory management software.
  • Experience working with upscale clientele, private clubs, groups or travel agencies a plus.
  • Well organized, accurate with numbers & strict attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize & meet multiple deadlines under pressure.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills. English as a first language.
  • Motivated, self-starter, outgoing, goal & service oriented.
  • Enthusiastic & friendly personality with a high energy level.
  • Must have lived or traveled extensively in Latin America. Spanish or Portuguese language a plus!
  • Nature & outdoor oriented (hiking, camping, rafting, biking, horseback riding, photography, etc.).

  • Hours & Salary: Minimum 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm preferred.
    Salary, commissions and other benefits are negotiable. This is a results-driven position for self-confident and experienced professionals. A contract-basis or part-time marketing position could be considered.
