The Magellan Discoverer is a next-generation expedition vessel purpose-built for boutique Antarctic cruises, blending innovation, sustainability, and comfort. Launched for the 2026–27 season, the Magellan Discoverer has been designed with a strong emphasis on environmental responsibility and guest experience. With a capacity of just 76 passengers for air-cruises or 96 on sea voyages, it offers the intimacy of small-ship exploration while incorporating advanced features such as a hybrid-electric propulsion system that reduces emissions and fuel consumption. Guests enjoy all-balcony staterooms, a wraparound observation deck, two multi-purpose meeting rooms, library, fitness center, dining room and outdoor BBQ area, satellite internet throughout the ship, and rapid Zodiac embarkations that maximize time ashore among Antarctica’s pristine landscapes.
The vessel offers five stateroom categories. Travelers may be accommodated on either a single or double basis, while families have the option of connecting rooms. Each of the 40 cabins features a king-size bed that can easily be converted into two twin beds, along with a wardrobe, individual heating control, a sitting area, desk, minibar, and a private bathroom with shower.
Onboard, the atmosphere is refined yet welcoming, with amenities including a panoramic lounge, sauna with ice views, fitness center, library, and international dining inspired by Chilean flavors paired with premium wines. By bypassing the Drake Passage via air-cruise itineraries, travelers reach Antarctica in just two hours, ensuring smoother access to the White Continent. The Magellan Discoverer represents a new standard in polar travel, combining cutting-edge design, sustainability, and personalized service for an unforgettable Antarctic adventure.
