Following an overnight flight to Santiago, Chile and connection to Puerto Montt, we travel inland to Puerto Varas, a charming resort town overlooking lovely Lake Llanquihue. For two days, we explore quaint villages, tour museums, walk on the Osorno Volcano and visit beautiful waterfalls. Next, we cross the Andes, stopping for a night of sublime comfort within Chile's most popular national park, Puyehue. We follow nature trails, in the shadow of the Puyehue Volcano, and rejuvenate in the hotel's thermal spa, fed by natural hot springs, before we make the International Land Crossing to Villa Angostura, Argentina, where we spend two nights at Las Balsas, a captivating resort, in a tranquil bay at the end of the Quetrihué Peninsula. We hike to the famed Arrayanes Forest or El Bosque, completing a loop to the lodge by boat. We continue to Bariloche and to hike in the Nahuel Huapi Park, based at the luxurious alpine style Llao Llao Resort & Spa. We then fly to Buenos Aires to visit this lively, cosmopolitan city before our overnight flight home.
