Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel

Machu Picchu Pueblo, Peru (Aguas Calientes)

The Inkaterra Machu Picchu Hotel is a unique, ecological hotel situated in 12 private acres of cloud forest above the Urubamba River within Machu Picchu Historical Sanctuary. Featuring 83 spacious, sunlit rooms, the architecture is Spanish colonial with stone archways and red tiled roofs (each room differs slightly).

The 4-star plus hotel was built like a typical “Andean village” with guest rooms located in in one or two-story whitewash cottages distributed throughout the gardens. Stone paths through the natural habitat of the area with fountains and canals flowing with spring water create a special atmosphere and permit visitors to enjoy a relaxing stay in direct contact with nature. The gardens (illuminated at night) feature a little more than 3 miles of ecological paths with several oberseravation points for viewing over 370 native species of orchid, 157 bird species, 108 butterfly species, more than 200 species of trees including native palms, ferns, begonias, fruit trees and medicinal plants.

The main house offers a spacious lounge with a fireplace, sofas and a good selection of books. The Mikhuna Wasi Restaurant,”The House of Food” in Quechua, with an outside terrace offering exceptional views of the Urubamba River is the perfect place to enjoy a buffet breakfast or delicious lunch and dinner. The hotel also has a small chapel, a cool water swimming pool (fed by pure mountain spring), boutique, library and media room, a reading room and the Unu Spa which offers Andean sauna, massage room and foot therapy.
