CASA CARTAGENA HOTEL

Cusco, Peru

The Casa Cartagena Boutique Hotel & Spa is a unique restored colonial house located by a tranquil small plaza close to the Pre-Columbian Art Museum. The Spanish architecture lies over an ancient Inca complex in which the mayor of Cusco, Don Fernando Cartagena y Santa Cruz used to live. The precision of the restoration of this notable residence is historically accurate.

The majestic carved stone walls create a unique elegance and welcoming warmth to guests staying in one of the 16 ample suites. The suites are distributed symmetrically and surround a courtyard and gardens luring guests to relax and enjoy their stay. Butler service is available to all customers along with a complimentary cocktail and canapé hour. A Pisco Sour class is also included for all guests to enjoy.

Peruvian cuisine is available in the historic restaurant, La Bodega de la Chola, located in the corner of Cusco where, back in the day, Pablo Neruda (Nobel Prize winner for Literature in 1971) created his poetry and Che Guevara (Argentinian revolutionary) enjoyed many bohemian nights.

Due to the high altitude of Cusco (11,150’), the Casa Cartagena Hotel assists its guests with acclimation with two enriched oxygen systems in every suite. The first is an oxygen concentrator directed over the bed and the second is a clinical oxygen concentrator located next to the bed so you can choose to rest breathing through a mask and relaxing at these high altitudes.

The hotel’s Qoya Spa offers unique experiences for the senses, soothing the body after a full day touring Machu Picchu or the Sacred Valley of the Incas. All together the Casa Cartagena is an experience you won’t soon forget.
