In Argentine Patagonia are some of the most dramatic granite spires on earth – constantly being transformed by the movement of immense glaciers In the magnificent wilderness areas of Los Glaciares National Park. Pristine wilderness rules supreme with wildlife such as the guanaco, ñandú, condor, fox and dozens of bird species.

This rich itinerary is designed for walkers and nature enthusiasts who would like to experience the Argentine side of the Patagonian Andes in style and comfort, with active days and relaxing nights at chic lodges and hotels. We start with a stimulating tour of the Argentine capital, but the majority of our trip focuses on the wilderness areas. Our adventure begins by exploring Glaciers National Park, from El Calafate overland to El Chaltén, for two days of hiking at the foot of iconic Mount Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre. Returning to El Calafate, we travel by a scenic boat to the exclusive Estancia Cristina. Next, stay at the comfortable EOLO lodge and visit the spectacular and memorable Perito Moreno Glacier.

Trip Itinerary


DAY 1: DEPARTURE FROM HOME
Arrival and sight-seeing in this vivacious and glamorous or sophisticated city. Welcome dinner and tango show.

DAY 2: BUENOS AIRES
Arrival and sight-seeing in this vivacious capital city. Welcome dinner and tango show.

DAY 3: BUENOS AIRES / EL CALAFATE / EL CHALTEN
Flight to Patagonia’s gateway city, El Calafate, scenic vehicle transfer to El Chalten, short afternoon warm up hike.

DAY 4: FITZ ROY
A full day of wilderness exploration and hiking with a gourmet lunch at the base of Mount Fitz Roy.

DAY 5: CERRO TORRE / EL CALAFATE
Morning hike in the Fitz Roy River Valley, with views of Cerro Torre and a picnic lunch. Return drive to El Calafate.

DAY 6: EL CALAFATE / ESTANCIA CRISTINA
Arrive to the historical Estancia Cristina via panoramic boat ride, enjoy an afternoon nature hike.

DAY 7: ESTANCIA CRISTINA / EOLO
Reach the exclusive lookout of Estancia Cristina via hike, horseback, or 4×4 exploration. Afternoon return to El Calafate and drive a short distance to EOLO Lodge.

DAY 8: PERITO MORENO GLACIER / EOLO
Full day of Los Glaciers National Park exploration, by catamaran, vehicle, and on foot. Visit the Glaciarum museum en route back to the lodge.

DAY 9: EL CALAFATE / BUENOS AIRES
Enjoy activities and amenities at EOLO lodge before boarding a flight to Buenos Aires and onward overnight flight home.

DAY 10: HOME
Arrive back to US this morning and make connections home.

BUENOS AIRES: PALACIO DUHAU — Adapted from the palace of a 19th century Buenos Aires railway tycoon, the five-star Palacio Duhau retains the opulence and history of its roots. The original mansion houses 11 rooms and 12 suites, embodying the glamorous and cosmopolitan reputation of Buenos Aires itself.
EL CHALTEN: LOS CERROS — The most emblematic hotel in El Chaltén, Los Cerros provides five-star luxury set against one of Patagonia’s most astounding backdrops. It’s strategically located on lookout point with views of the El Chaltén Valley and surrounding mountains, in close proximity to Los Glacieres National Park.
EL CALAFATE: POSADA LOS ALAMOS -This classic upscale hotel, located in the midst of some of the best scenery in Patagonia, has 144 rooms to give guests the perfect memorable stay. Each room has privileged views of the gardens and of the mountain range beyond and is decorated with historical objects from the region and items from the Guatti-Girometti family estate who developed the hotel.
LOS GLACIARES: ESTANCIA CRISTINA — Reachable only by a two-hour panoramic boat ride across Lake Argentino, Estancia Cristina enjoys a privileged location, with unique access to and views of Upsala Glacier. Its small size (five lodges with a total of 20 guest rooms) maintains the authenticity of the historical ranch, while giving an aura of exclusivity and privacy.
