Among the most popular of our private adventures
are custom treks. Any of our scheduled treks can be operated privately on requested
dates or we can follow an alternative shorter trail or a longer off-the-beaten-path
route. Custom treks require a minimum of 4 participants traveling together. Some samples
of custom treks are listed below:
PERU
Urubamba Weaver's
Route
Trekking the trails of the Urubamba Range is a walk
back in time. This region is populated with scattered Quechua communities,
enclaves of traditional culture that have, thus far, escaped the encroachment
of modern society. Like the rugged peaks, in whose shadows they live, these
gentle, hard-working people form the backbone of this country. By graciously
welcoming us into their pueblos, they allow us to watch this traditional craft
and glimpse a simpler life, a world apart from our own!

Choquequirao Exploratory
Besides a
fantastic, off-the-beaten-path trek and great comradery with new friends, this
adventure features some of the most impressive views in the Cusco region, one
of the finest and longest sections of stone-paved trails (well be hiking
for nearly 4 days on a trail better preserved than that of Camino Inca!) and
enigmatic ruins such as Choquequirao and the recently found Cerro Victoria!

PATAGONIA
Paine Towers Lodge Adventure
Created in 1970 and given World Heritage status in ‘78,
Torres del Paine Park — one of the world’s most stunning mountain
destinations — boasts dense southern beech forests, rolling meadows swathed
in daisies and lupines, shimmering lakes bobbing with turquoise icebergs and immense
glaciers clawing their way down from the Continental Ice Cap.
This wonderful, soul-inspiring wilderness offers what many feel is South America’s
best hiking experience. In addition, this relatively un-traveled region supports 105
species of birds including flamingos, swans, upland geese, ibises, Magellanic woodpeckers,
penguins and condors as well as unusual flora like the evergreen southern beech and
deciduous apple-berry bush. The unique granite peaks are recognized worldwide and are sure to leave a life-long impression.
Comparing favorably to Yosemite, Paine should be
on every hiker’s list.view
